Figs 123−128 View FIGURES 123 − 128 , Map 4

Type material: Holotype: ♂, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Nevis Island [17°21’N, 62°46’W], 24−29 September 1966, A.M. Chickering leg. ( MCZ 69575).

Paratypes: 2♂, 1♀, 8 juveniles, from the same vial as holotype ( MCZ 69575).

Etymology. The specific name is a noun and refers to the type locality. Oualie was the pre-Columbian name of Nevis Island and means “land of the beautiful waters” in reference to the island’s many fresh water and hot volcanic springs.

Diagnosis. Males of N. ouali sp. nov. resemble those of N. lucasi comb. nov. ( Fig. 91 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ) in the eRTA represented by a strong spine-like apophysis ( Figs 124−125 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ). They are distinguished from this species by the vRTA developed as small bump at the base of the dRTA and by the TBE bifid, with two elongate branches ( Figs 124−125 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ). They are further distinguished from the other species of the genus by the TBC absent ( Fig. 124 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ). Females resemble those of N. saetosa comb. nov. ( Fig. 129 View FIGURES 129 − 135. 129 − 131 ) in the median septum roughly oval ( Fig. 126 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ). They are distinguished from this species by the median septum smooth ( Fig. 126 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ) (with deep procurved groove in N. saetosa comb. nov.).

Description. Male (MCZ 69575, holotype): Prosoma orange brown, mottled with dark brown spots. Fovea dark brown. Eye borders black. Chelicerae orange brown with longitudinal dark brown stripe. Legs and pedipalps orange brown. Legs ventrally mottled with brown spots. Sternum yellow with orange margins. Endites yellow, distally cream colored. Labium brown, distally cream colored. Opisthosoma cream colored; dorsally with gray pattern of irregular marks scattered on anterior half and chevron-like marks on posterior half; ventrally mottled with gray spots. Total length 10.7. Prosoma: 5.1 long, 4.5 wide. Opisthosoma: 5.4 long, 3.5 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0 26, 0.22, 0.16, 0.22; interdistances: 0.16, 0.18, 0.38, 0.38, 0.20, 0.12. Legs (2143): I: 19.5 (5.0, 2.5, 5.3, 5.4, 1.3); II: 19.8 (5.5, 2.3, 5.2, 5.5, 1.3); III: 15.6 (4.7, 2.1, 3.7, 4.0, 1.1); IV: 18.5 (5.2, 2.0, 4.3, 5.7, 1.3). Palp: VTA elongate, displaced retrolaterally; dRTA triangular in ventral view, median apophysis arising from tegulum at 2:30 o’clock position; conductor with same width throughout its entire length; embolus filiform, arising from tegulum at 7 o’clock position; TBE with main branch longer than secondary branch ( Figs 123−125 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ).

Female (MCZ 69575, paratype): Coloration pattern as in male. Total length 11.9. Prosoma: 4.3 long, 3.5 wide. Opisthosoma: 7.1 long, 4.6 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.22, 0.20, 0.16, 0.20; interdistances: 0.18, 0.20, 0.34, 0.36, 0.14, 0.10. Legs (2143): I: 12.8 (3.6, 2.0, 3.3, 3.1, 0.8); II: 12.8 (3.9, 2.0, 3.2, 3.0, 0.7); III: 10.1 (3.2, 1.6, 2.3, 2.3, 0.7); IV: 12.7 (3.6, 1.6, 2.9, 3.6, 1.0). Epigyne: epigynal field roughly rectangular, longer than wide; median septum almost two times wider than long ( Fig. 126 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ). Vulva: glandular projections elongate, two times longer than wide; spermathecae with anterior twist ( Figs 127−128 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ).

Variation. Males (n = 3): total length 8.1−10.7; prosoma length 4.2−5.1; femur I length 4.5−5.0.

Distribution. Only known from the type locality (Map 4).
