D e s c r i p t i o n. The best preserved specimen (Pl. 2, Fig. 10) consists of the basal part of a probably oblong simple leaf, petiole incomplete, base almost cuneate, l × w about 65 × 14 mm, ratio l/w about 4.6; margin entire, midvein slightly bent, secondaries brochidodromous, very delicate, arising at moderate to steep angles, regularly spaced, tertiaries not discernible.

R e m a r k s. Contrary to cf. Ocotea heeri , this leaf is slender, the secondaries are very delicate, regularly spaced, arising at steeper angles, and the tertiaries are not distinct. Assignment of these leaves to Lauraceae is tentative. The frequent occurrence of Lauraceae leaves was proved by cuticular studies in the neighbouring Zanclean locality of Fossano ( Macaluso et al. 2018).
