Distribution. This species is known from Antigua, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthelemy, St. Croix, St. Martin, Surinam, the United States of America, Uruguay, Venezuela and the Virgin Islands (Bl̂te 1936, Froeschner 1981, Maes & Ĝllner-Scheiding 1993, Brailovsky 2009, Packauskas 2010, Questel 2018, Brailovsky & Perez-Gelabert 2019). Bahamas, Bolivia, Dominica, Jamaica, Peru, St. Kitts (West Indies), and Trinidad are new country records.
