Martarega uruguayensis View in CoL is widely distributed in southeastern and southern South America including Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. This is the most common species in Brazil and has been found in all political regions of Brazil (Figure 15B). Males of M. uruguayensis View in CoL bear hemelytra with a narrow longitudinal median stripe and hemelytral process short, being about one-third as long as membrane ( Figure 10A View Figures 9–12 ). We have seen some male specimens of this species with a distinctive spine which is
with one group of short bristles at ventral surface; (E) female hind femora with lateral margin emarginated near the base; (F) male genital capsule (lateral view) showing right clasper; (G) male genital capsule (lateral view) showing left clasper. Figure 11 View Figures 9–12 . Martarega mcateei Jaczewski, 1928 . (A) Male hemelytra (lateral view); (B) female hemelytra (lateral view); (C) right clasper; (D) left clasper. Figure 12 View Figures 9–12 . Martarega brasiliensis Truxal, 1949 . (A) Male hemelytra (lateral view); (B) female hemelytra (lateral view); (C) male mesotrochanter with abundant thin setae on ventral surface; (D) male genital capsule (lateral view) showing right clasper; (E) male genital capsule (lateral view) showing left clasper. EFE, emarginated femur; FSP, femoral spine; HPR, hemelytral process; LCA, longitudinal carina; LMS, longitudinal median stripe; LCL, left clasper; PYS, patch of yellowish setae; RCL, right clasper; SBR, short bristles; STA, brown stain; STH, stripe originating at base of hemelytral process; TAE, toothed area of embolium. Scale bar: 1.00 mm.

positioned just on inner half of forefemora ( Figure 10C View Figures 9–12 ). Both forms are often found coexisting at the same locality studied herein. Females of M. uruguayensis may be recognized by (1) their hind femora emarginated along their bases ( Figure 10E View Figures 9–12 ) and (2) the broad longitudinal stripe covering most of hemelytral surface ( Figure 10B View Figures 9–12 ). Macropterous form of both sexes bears brown hemelytra and the suture of clavus and corium hyaline.
