Male. Body medium for the tribe Meconematini , form stout. Head short conical, fastigium verticis protruding caudally, basal area slightly broad, tapering forward, apex slightly truncate, shovel-shaped, dorsal margin concave ventrally, broad and deep. Apical segment of maxillary palpi slightly shorter than subapical segment, apex enlarged.
Pronotum broad, anterior margin straight, posterior margin protruding afterward, tongue-shaped, apex obtusely rounded, disc comparatively flat, lateral margins parallel, lateral carinae distinct; lateral lobe longer than high, ventral margin rounded, humeral sinus distinct.
Tegmina developed, more exceeding apices of postfemora, basal area slightly broad, tapering apicad, apices obtusely rounded; hind wings longer than tegmina.
Procoxa with a spine, ventral margin of all femora without spines, internal and external sides of ventral margin of protibia with 5 spines separately, spines of internal side longer than external side, tibial tympana open on internal and external sides, oval. Mesotibia with 4 spines and 5 spines on internal and external sides of ventral margin. Posttibia with 26–28 spines on internal and external sides of dorsal margin separately.
Tenth abdominal tergite enlarged, mammilar, centre of posterior margin concave, lateral margins cradling dorsad. Cerci long, basal area stout, dorsal margin of basal area with 1 finger-shaped process, ventral margin of inner side of basal area with one shovel-shaped process, surface with some small short spines, middle area compressed, near apices slightly twisted, with 2 triangular structures. Subgenital plate large, base broad, apical half narrow, posterior margin straight, with a pair of styli short and small. Genitalia sclerotized, with many short and small spines ( Figs. 25–27 View FIGURES 17 – 28 )
Colour. Body light yellowish brown (probably green alive, or yellowish brown). Lateral margins of pronotum with yellowish white longitudinal stripes. Eyes yellowish brown. Apices of spines of posttibiae yellowish brown. Female. Unknown.
Measurements (mm). Body: 311.5–12.0; pronotum: 34.0–4.1; tegmina: 318.0–18.2; postfemora: 38.5–9.0. Type materials. Holotype, male, Jianfengling, Ledong, Hainan, China, 25 May 2010, collected by Ming Qiu and Rui-Lian Li; paratype: 1 male, data as same as holotype.
Etymology. The name of the new species refers to the morphology of male’s cerci.
