Diagnosis: A species of the genus Ilhasina n. g. with a very small carapace (approx. 0.7 to 0.8mm in length). Carapace in lateral outline more or less bean-shaped. Maximum carapace height just behind the carapace centre. In dorsal view the carapace is wedge-shaped, flanks slightly indented in front of the centre. Maximum carapace width is approximately two thirds of the carapace length. Posterior margin of both valves with a node-like or more extended swelling of variably strong definition; more seldom a similar yet always much weaker swelling on the anterior margin of the right valve.
