Distribution. China (Zhejiang, Anhui [new record]).

Host plant. Rosaceae : Rosa multiflora Thunb. [new record].

Field observations. In April, 2014, Shinohara found numerous adults, eggs and larvae on the leaflets of Rosa multiflora in Tianmushan area ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 A–C). On April 12, Shinohara collected 25 early instar larvae on the host plants along the car road from Chanyuansi to Kaishan Laodian at an altitude of 520 meters and reared them. The larva solitarily makes a leaf-roll on the underside of a leaflet. Only one larva and remains of one egg shell (rarely two larvae and two egg shells) were found per leaflet. Five larvae matured on April 24, 19 on April 25 and one on May 1; they were all fixed in ethanol after maturation. In Kaishan Laodian at an altitude of 1155 meters, only the adults and eggs were found during Shinohara’s stay there from April 8 to 16. Eggs were collected on April 16, they hatched on April 21 to 25, and the larvae were fixed on May 5.

Remarks. This species was described from "Xitianmushan, Laodian-Xianrending" ( Shinohara & Xiao 2006). It is apparently a common pamphiliid on the mountains of Zhejiang Province. This is the first record from Anhui Province. Identification of the immature stages was based on the perfect agreement of a part of the CO1 sequences of five larvae feeding on Rosa multiflora and three adults from Kaishan Laodian (Kiyoshi, personal communication).
