Diagnosis

Shell ( Fig. 4A View Figure 4 ): Average in size; periphery shouldered, weakly keeled; spire moderately elevated; umbilicus open, wide, sometimes partly concealed by columellar reflection; protoconch and teleoconch with dense, pointed periostracal projections and fine axial growth lines; teleoconch with blunt, regular, widely spaced axial ribs; apertural lip reflected, moderately expanded; horn.

Genitalia ( Fig. 6A, B View Figure 6 ): Penial retractor muscle inserting on vas–epiphallic junction. Epiphallus about as long as penis, thick, tapering in thickness towards Taxonomic remarks

Type species of Nanotrachia gen. nov., not congeneric with other species originally assigned to the genus Ordtrachia , as revealed by the molecular phylogeny ( Fig. 2 View Figure 2 ).
