Diagnosis. Ishigakia is distinguished from other genera of Acaenitinae by the combination of the following character states: clypeus without transverse median ridge ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 a, 3a); hind tarsal claws simple; occipital carina complete; upper tooth of mandible much smaller than lower tooth ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 a, 3a); areolet of fore wing absent ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 e, 3e); fore wing with vein rs-m far distad of vein 2m-cu ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 e, 3e).

Distribution. Palearctic, Oriental and Afrotropical Regions.
