Remarks. A metanotum partially visible on the dorsal midline, partially fused cubitus posterior and anal vein 1 in the fore wing, fused bases of the hind wing radius posterior and median veins, male opercula not strongly S-shaped nor with a deeply concave lateral margin, males lacking abdominal timbal covers (except Cicadatrini Distant, 1905c ), undeveloped distal pygofer shoulder in males, pygofer upper lobes present, large and dominate claspers that are not spined and dominate abdominal segment 10 (except in Katoini Moulds and Marshall, 2018 (in Marshall et al. 2018)), small uncus if present, aedeagus restrained by claspers lacking a ventrobasal pocket, and apical theca lacking leaf-like lateral lobes are characteristic of species of the subfamily ( Moulds 2005; Marshall et al. 2018).
