Type locality: ‘-?’.

Label locality: ‘S.E. Africa’.

Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1874.10.29.1 (J.E. Gray collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype ( Bratcher & Cernohorsky, 1987: 168, pl. 51, fig. 200a).

Also paralectotype of Terebra frigata Hinds, 1844 .

Remarks : Terebra grayi Smith, 1877 nom. nov. for this species. ‘ West Africa’ designated as type locality by Bratcher & Cernohorsky (1987: 168).
