Marshall / 1907­107; SYN­ / TYPE [circular card, blue perimeter]; SYNTYPE of / Stenobasipteron / gracile Lichtwardt / det. J. E. Chainey, 1999. In good condition (in BMNH).

Discussion: I have examined the male syntype from Mazoe; the female syntype from the same locality is also deposited in BMNH. Relationships with the two other species now included in Stenobasipteron can be inferred from the species key (above) and from my discussion under S. arnoldi and S. difficile .

S. gracile is a relatively pallid species. The costa of the male has a moderately developed anterior flexure, which is much less prominent than in S. wiedemanni . Unlike S. wiedemanni there is no bulla in the first basal cell of the wing.
