57. Gymnopternus angustifrons (Staeger, 1842) (Dolichopodinae) — new to Portugal

Number of specimens recorded. 8.

Distribution. Europe, less recorded from the south. Portugal: two northernmost provinces.

Ecology. Collected in Portugal only in pastures and on a riverbank. Recorded in northwestern Europe from moist to wet wooded sites in heathland areas (sandy soils) ( Pollet et al. 1992).

Rarity (%). 3.4 (rare). Fairly common (FL).

Activity period. May–June.
