Description: —Large scandent or climbing shrubs, 8–15 m long; stems quadrangular, canaliculate, sparsely pilose. Leaves lanceolate, 1.0–7.5 × 0.4–1.5 cm, cuneate at base, crenulate and ciliate at margins, acuminate at apex, thick, subcoriaceous, sparsely pilose above; mid vein impressed above, faintly raised below; veins in 5–7 pairs; petioles 2–15 mm long. Inflorescences in panicles, axillary or terminal, many flowered; inflorescence bracts lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 4–5 × 1.2–1.6 mm, acute, recurved, glandular pubescent or densely pilose. Flowers actinomorphic; pedicels angular, 0.5–2.2 mm long, densely pilose; sepals greenish white, 5, narrowly ovate or elliptic-lanceolate, 4.0–6.5 × 1.5–2.0 mm, obtuse or acute, scarious at margins, 3-nerved; petals white, 5, lanceolate to elliptic or elliptic-oblong to elliptic-lanceolate, 3.7–5.6 × 0.8–1.0 mm, about 1.5 or 3 times as long as broad, entire at margins, acute to obtuse or bifid or emarginated at apex, up to 1/3 of the sepals length or almost equal. Stamens 5 shorter or equal to 5 staminodes; filaments subulate, 1.0– 1.2 mm long, connate at rim of disc; anthers elliptic to subglobose, c. 0.3 mm across, dorsifixed. Disc membranous, 5-lobed, each lobe fused with filaments. Ovary orbicular, c. 0.8 mm across, dorso-ventrally compressed, crustaceous; styles 2, slender, c. 1.5 mm long, revolute; stigma inconspicous. Capsules golden-yellow, subglobose to ovoid, 2.0–2.5 × 1.5 mm, 4-valved, floral parts persistent, crustaceous; one seed, reniform, 1.0– 1.2 mm across, tuberculate.
