Material examined. 1 ♂ [Holotype], China, Hainan Province, Jianfengling, 800–1000 m above sea level, 12. VII. 2007, collected by Xing Jichun ( GUGC); 1 ♀ [paratype], China, Hainan Province, Jianfengling, Tianchi, 19. IV. 2009, collected by Jiang Xiaohong ( GUGC).
Host. Quercus spp. ( Fagaceae ).
Distribution. China (Hainan Prov.).
Remark. This species is similar to M. sympatrica Viraktamath, 1996 also feeding on Quercus , but differs from the latter in the narrow apex of the aedeagal shaft (Figs. 34–35), the broad pygofer (Fig. 32), and the gradually subapically expanded and apically narrowed pygofer processes (Fig. 33).
