Type species: Thubdora acutalis Park, 2018 . Type locality: Democratic Repulic of the Congo .

The genus Thubdora is an Afrotropical genus, comprising more than 30 species in the region. The genus is superficially similar to Torodora Meyrick or Ptilothyris Walsingham , but it can be distingusished from Torodora by the R 1 of the forewing bent outwardly near base, and the uncus slightly broadened or bifurcated apically, and from Ptilothyris which has the uncus broadened into a fan-shape and the basal plate of the gnathos usually trifurcated caudally.
