Cyana fascioloides View in CoL S.-Y. Huang, Volynkin & Saldaitis, sp. n.

( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–8 , 9 View FIGURES 9–12 )

Type material. Holotype ( Figs 1 View FIGURES 1–8 , 9 View FIGURES 9–12 ): “ 8.IV.2016, Jiangzhou District , Chongzhuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture, Tiantian Yu & Shuqing Ji leg.”, genitalic preparation in glycerol by Huang ( SCAU).

Paratype: male, same data as holotype, genitalic preparation in glycerol by Huang ( SCAU) .

Diagnosis. The new species ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–8 ) is similar to C. fasciola ( Figs 3, 4 View FIGURES 1–8 ) but differs in the brick red thorax and forewing markings (they are crimson in C. fasciola ); the thicker subbasal line, the thicker and medially less curved antemedial line; the closer proximity of the discal spots; the thicker postmedial line, which is less oblique outwards and terminates further from the tornus; the thinner terminal line; and the pale pinkish hindwing (pink in C. fasciola ). In the male genital capsule of C. fascioloides sp. n. ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9–12 ), the uncus is thinner than in C. fasciola ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9–12 ), the apico-lateral lobes of the vinculum are somewhat less prominent, the distal section of the valva is somewhat more elongate (in proportion to the valva length) and the ampulla is basally somewhat narrower (the length to basal width ratio is 1.2:1 vs. 1.6: 1 in C. fasciola ). The phallus of C. fascioloides sp. n. is more dilated proximally than in C. fasciola , and the vesica differs from that of C. fasciola in the longer and broader ventral subbasal diverticulum (in proportion to the phallus width), the lack of the subbasal cluster of spinules, the fewer and narrower spinules on the ventro-distal diverticulum, and the somewhat broader dorso-distal diverticulum (in proportion to the phallus width).

Description. External morphology of adults. Male ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–8 ). Forewing length 11 mm. Antenna sparsely ciliate. Head white. Thorax white, tegula and patagia with brick red spots posteriorly. Forewing costa convex medially. Forewing ground color white, transverse lines brick red. Subbasal line dilated at costa, indistinct at anal margin. Antemedial line almost straight, slightly dilated at costa, evenly dilated between vein M2 and anal margin, fused with short red dash in cell. Discal spots black, more or less round, posterior one located slightly more outwardly. Costa with orange triangular spot between discal spots and postmedial line. Postmedial line evenly dilated posteriorly, constricted opposite the cell, disappearing at costa, fused with postmedial subcostal dash anteriorly. Terminal line narrowed posteriorly, diffuse. Forewing cilia white. Hindwing pale pink, paler basally and along anal margin. Hindwing cilia whitish. Abdomen white with slight suffusion of pink scales. Male genitalia ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9–12 ). Uncus elongate, slender, dorso-ventrally flattened, apically rounded, its basal section fused with tuba analis. Arms of tegumen narrow, dilated apically. Vinculum heavily sclerotized with broadly triangular, apically rounded apico-lateral processes. Intravincular membrane with short corema medially. Valva lobate with medially convex costa; distal section broad, apically rounded. Ampulla narrowly triangular, apically dentate, heavily sclerotized, projected ventrad. Sacculus wide, distal process narrowly triangular, apically pointed, somewhat curved dorsad. Juxta four times as wide as long, trapezoidal, weakly sclerotized. Phallus cylindrical, somewhat dilated proximally, serrate distally. Main chamber of vesica broad, more or less globular, membranous. Dorsal subbasal diverticulum large, membranous, broadly conical with three globular additional lobes laterally and distally. Ventral subbasal diverticulum large, sack-like, membranous. Dorso-distal diverticulum short but broad, semiglobular, membranous. Ventro-distal diverticulum broadly conical, apically rounded, surface appearing granular with cluster of numerous tiny spinules. Vesica ejaculatorius narrow, projected ventrad; distal plate of vesica thin, stick-like.

Female unknown.

Distribution. Known from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the close similarity to C. fasciola .
