Description. Forewings elongated, 2.2 times longer than wide, length in male about 4.3 mm. Colour stramineous; a small red mark above the eyes; margins of facial carinae in front of eyes faintly orange. Forewings glassy; lightly infuscated from clavus tip to base of Cu1, from tip of Cu to apex of first costal cell, around base of Ms2, and along apical crossveins; a dark mark around base of Ms3; veins stramineous, a few sections brownish; last subcostal sector and adjacent part of C red. Hindwings colourless. In profile junction of vertex and frons angulated; rostrum reaching hindcoxae; subantennal processes connected to margins of facial carinae. Forewings with Sc+R fork at middle of wing; basal median cell broad, about twice as wide as basal cell between Sc+R and M; a small triangle at base of Ms1. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles widening towards end; proximal dorsal process small and slender; distal dorsal process long. Aedeagus stem long; apical portion with two flat lobes, parallel to each other.
Etymology. The species is named for the collector and ' hollowayi ' is a latinized noun used in the genitive case.
Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 4.3 mm), EAST MALAYSIA: NORTH BORNEO: SARAWAK; labels: 1) SARAWAK/ Gunong Mulu / Nat. Park. Mulu 2) Camp 4, Mulu / 178 m. i.1978 / 1. montane for. 3) J.D. Holloway / RGS Mulu exped./ B.M. 1978-206 ( BMNH) . Paratype same data as holotype, 1 ♂ (fw. 4.2) ( BMNH) .
Distribution. North Borneo.
Diagnosis. Saccharodite hollowayi shows some similarities to Sa. mappa sp. nov., also from Borneo, but lacks the mottled dark forewing infuscation as well as the pointed tip at the apex of the male aedeagus found in that species.
