7. Musonia sexdentata Beier, 1942 View in CoL [LO]
Type locality. Beier (1942): Sarayaco , presumably in Loreto ( Peru).
Examined material. None.
Remarks. This species is unlikely to belong to Musonia . According to its original description ( Beier, 1942), M. sexdentata has a pronotum with a metazona that is almost three times as long as the prozona, and foretibiae only slightly more than one-third as long as the forefemora, the former with 6 posteroventral and 8 anteroventral spines. Overall, sexdentata has a more stick-like habitus. These and other character states suggest instead a closer relationship to Pseudomusonia . More in-depth studies are necessary to determine the generic placement of sexdentata .
