Type locality. Saussure (1872): Surinam.

Examined material. None.

Remarks. This species remains known only from its original description and thus its taxonomic identity requires confirmation. It was first cited from Peru in Ehrmann (2002) but with no reference to any specific locality. We include this species in the checklist with reservations.
