Prosthetops wolfbergensis Bilton, 2013 

One of the largest hydraenids on earth, known from the Western and Northern Cape provinces. Sites 1, 12 & 13.

Pterosthetops hawequas Perkins, 2008 

Widespread in the Western and Northern Cape provinces ( Bilton 2014b). Sites 1, 2, 4, 9, 12 & 13.

Described from the nearby Gifberg-Matsikammaberg massif. Sites 12–14

Mesoceration hantam Bilton, 2014 

Described from the Hantamsberg, but clearly more widespread in the Bokkeveld. Sites 11–13.

* Mesoceration longipennis Perkins, 2008 

Described from close to the Gifberg in the Western Cape. Common in Sites 10, 11 & 12. 

* Mesoceration rufescens Perkins & Balfour-Browne, 1994 Described  from the Western Cape Province. Site 12.

A member of the barriotum group, most likely this species. Sites 5–7.

Described from the nearby Gifberg-Matsikammaberg and adjacent areas in the Western Cape ( Bilton 2015a). Sites 1 & 12. 

* Parasthetops benefossus Perkins, 2008 

Described from widely separated localities in the Western Cape Province, this species was abundant where found on the Bokkeveld. Sites 5, 6 & 12.

A relatively widespread South African endemic. Sites 1 & 3.

Widespread in the Western Cape Province. Sites 2 & 4.

Recorded from the Hantamsberg by Bilton (2014a). Sites 5, 7 & 8.

Described from the Western and Eastern Cape provinces. Site 11.

The most common and widespread species of the genus in the Western Cape, newly reported here from the Northern Cape Province. Site 9.

A widespread southern African species, occurring north to Namibia ( Perkins 2014), but not previously reported from the Northern Cape. Sites 1, 4 & 11.

Described from the Gifberg in the Western Cape. Sites 1, 7, 12 & 14.

Parhydraena namaqua Perkins, 2009 

Known only from the Bokkeveld ( Perkins 2009; Bilton 2014a), where it is the commonest species of the genus. Sites 1–3, 5–9 & 11–14.

The most abundant and widespread species of the genus in the Cape. Sites 1, 2, 5, 8, 9, 13 & 14.

A widespread Afrotropical species, found throughout South Africa. Sites 1, 4 & 5–7.
