Sphaerolaimidae . Buccal cavity barrel-shaped; cheilostoma with broad granular shagreen band and usually with a prominent circular crest at posterior edge of the band; gymnostoma narrow; stegostoma short conical or truncate conical.

Type species: Sphaerolaimus hirsutus Bastian, 1865 .
