Type material. HOLOTYPE, ♂ labeled: Russia: Krasnoyarskij Kraj, Taimyr Reserve, Ary-Mas field station, left bank of river Novaya, 14 m a.s.l., inundated terrace, 72.5˚N, 101.94˚E, 10–12.VII.2010, coll. A. Barkalov ( SZM). PARATYPES: Russia: 16 ♂, same data as holotype, coll. A. Barkalov. 14 ♂, Krasnoyarskij Kraj, Taimyr Peninsular left bank of river Zakharova Rassokha 72.7˚N, 101.05˚E, 11–20.VII.2011, coll. A. Barkalov ( SZM and VSU).

Diagnosis. Face narrow; postpedicel large, transversely oval; palpus brown. Lower postocular setae white; fore and hind trochanters and all femora dark; fore coxa with black hairs; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal and 2 posterodorsal setae; hind femur and tibia without long setae and hairs; phallus without long processes.

Description. Male: Body length: 2.0– 2.1 mm, wing length 1.9–2.0 mm. Head: Frons shiny green with purple tinge, without dusting. Eyes not contiguous. Face narrow green; under antennae with brown dusting, width in lower part in 5–6 times narrower than width of postpedicel. Antenna black; postpedicel large, transverse-oval, with a rounded tip ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – C E); arista apical, with short hairs. Ratio of postpedicel length to its width to arista length, 0.5/0.9/ 2.5. Proboscis brown. Palpus brown without silver dusting, with black hairs. Lower postocular setae white. Thorax: Dark-green; mesonotum with bluish reflection, covered with fine grey-brown dusting, 6 pairs of strong dorsocentral setae, acrostichal setae in two rows, long. Scutellum hind margin with 2 long and 2 short setae. Pleura with dense grey dusting; proepisternum with light setae. Legs: fore coxa dark-green with black hairs, mid and hind coxae with dark setae. Femora mostly greenish-brown, except narrowly light tips; fore femur with some short anteroventral setae near tip, length of which no longer femur width. Mid and hind femora with short anteroventral hairs. Fore and mid tibiae and tarsi yellow, apical segments of tarsi brown. Fore tibia with 1 anterodorsal seta in basal half. Ratio of fore tibia to tarsomeres (from first to fifth): 2.5/1.1/0.6/0.5/0.3/0.4. Mid tibia without long dorsal hairs, with 2 anterodorsal and 2 posterodorsal setae, basal half of hind tibia brownish-yellow. Hind tarsus black; ratio of hind tibia to tarsomeres (from first to fifth): 3.8/1.1/0.7/0.4/0.3/0.4. Wings: Hyaline, with dark venae. R4+5 and M1 parallel near wing top. Ratio of costal section between R2+3 and R 4+5 to that between R4+5 and M1 1.5/0.5; m-cu distinctly shorter apical part of M3+4 (0.6/ 2.4). Halter and cilia of lower calypter yellow. Abdomen: Dark-green with metallic shiny, grey dusted on sides, covered with black hairs. Epandrium oval; surstylus curved in apical half, in the shape as in Figure 1 View FIGURE 1. A – C D. Phallus prolonged with short apical process ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1. A – C F, G). Cerci brown, with light hair. Female: Unknown.

Etymology. The species is named for Russian zoologist Ph. Dr. Victor T. Komov.

Taxonomy. In the key to Palearctic species of Chrysotus ( Negrobov et al. 2000) , the new species runs to Chrysotus obscuripes Zetterstedt and can be distinguished from the latter by following characters:

1. Phallus with long lateral processes ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1. A – C L, M), surstylus narrowed apically ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1. A – C K, N), deeply notched ventrally...................................................................................... Chrysotus obscuripes Zetterstedt - Phallus without long lateral processes, surstylus approximately equal width from base to tip ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1. A – C D).................................................................................................. .. Chrysotus komovi sp. nov.
