Type data. Holotype, female, Mulun National Nature Reserve, Huanjiang County (24°13'N, 108°26'E), Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, 16-Aug.-2006, from Archiboehmeria atrata (Gagnep.) C. J. Chen (Urticaceae) , collected by Suigai Wei, Guoquan Wang, Aizhi Qin, Yongjun Meng. Paratypes, 7 females and 2 males, were mounted on 9 slides, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. The mites are vagrant on the undersurfaces of the leaves, no visible damage seen.

Etymology. The specific designation is derived from the generic name of the type host plant.

Note. This new species is close to Apodiptacus cordiformis Keifer, 1960 , but can be differentiated by dorsum with 4 wax stripes, tarsal empodium with each branch 6-rayed.
