Type locality. Village of Conselheiro Mata , near Diamantina, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 37A View Plate 37 ). Restricted to the central portion of the Atlantic Forest, near its contact with the Cerrado, along the EspinhaÇo Range ( Plt. 37A View Plate 37 ) at intermediate to high elevations ( Plt. 37B View Plate 37 ). Observed in the field in grasslands on rocky outcrops ( Curcio et al., 2012).
