Type locality. Barreiras , state of Bahia, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 18A View Plate 18 ). Widespread in the Cerrado and its contact with the Caatinga and Pantanal ( Plt. 18A View Plate 18 ), mostly at intermediate to high elevations ( Plt. 18B View Plate 18 ). Observed in the field in savannas and open areas ( Borges-Nojosa et al., 2009; Dal Vechio et al., 2013).
