Type locality. Rio CuraÇá , Caraíba, state of Bahia, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 361A View Plate 361 ). Widespread in the Caatinga and its contact areas with the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado ( Plt. 361A View Plate 361 ),mostly at low to intermediate elevations ( Plt. 361B View Plate 361 ).Maps and taxonomy in Bailey et al.(2005). Observed in the field in open areas ( Guedes et al., 2014).
