Dryinus niger Kieffer, 1904: 352 (description of the female).

Material examined: Type: ♀ holotype: ITALY: Campania, Salerno Province, Vallo della Lucania, 392m, V.1902, A. & F. Solari leg. ( MCSNG). Other material: 1 ♁: NORWAY: Buskerud, eastern: Lier, Skansen, N59.96315° E10.32906°, Malaise Trap, 5.VI–24.VII.2015, Frode Ødegaard leg., ( NTNU). In addition, females listed by Guglielmino et al. (2019) from Albania, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom (see also Olmi 1999; Väänänen & Vikberg 2007) were examined.

Description of male from Norway, N59.96315° E10.32906° ( Figs 1–3 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 ): macropterous ( Fig. 1A, C View FIGURE 1 ); length 3.0 mm. Head ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) black, except mandible testaceous and clypeus brown; antenna brown; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs testaceous, except part of coxae, clubs of metafemora and tarsomeres 4 and 5 brown.Antenna filiform, with antennomere3 more than 6.5 × as long as broad (27:4) ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 );antennomeres in following proportions: 7:6:19:12:14:12:11:10:8:10. Head ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) dull, granulate and slightly reticulate rugose; frontal line incomplete, present only in posterior half of face; temple absent; POL = 8; OL = 4; OOL = 5; posterior ocelli touching occipital carina; occipital carina incomplete, completely visible on dorsal side of head, laterally not reaching eye. Mesoscutum ( Figs 1B View FIGURE 1 , 2A View FIGURE 2 ) dull, granulate and slightly reticulate rugose. Notauli incomplete, hardly visible, reaching about 0.4 × length of mesoscutum. Mesoscutellum and metanotum shiny, partly punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Metapectal-propodeal complex reticulate rugose, without transverse or longitudinal keels. Forewing ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 , 2B View FIGURE 2 ) hyaline, without dark transverse bands; Radial sector (Rs) of 2r-rs&Rs vein slightly longer than second radial cross (2r-rs) (10:9). Genitalia with distivolsella situated about at same level of penis distal apex ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ). Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
