Uropterygius alboguttatus Smith, 1962:427 , pl. 60, fig. E (type locality: Assumption Island, western Indian Ocean). Uropterygius xanthopterus (not of Bleeker, 1859): Ho et al., 2010:table 1.

Voucher specimen: NMMB-P 2560 ( Taiwan).

Remarks. The specimen of Uropterygius xanthopterus listed in Ho et al (2010) is reidentified as this species. This is a new record in Taiwan.
