Type species. Apogonatopus edaphicus Olmi, 2007 , by original designation.

Diagnosis. ♀: apterous ( Fig. 254 View FIGURE 254 ): palpal formula 2/2 or 4/3; occipital carina distinct, complete on dorsal re- gion of head, but incomplete on lateral regions of head; mesosoma composed almost completely of fused segments (only propleura mobile and articulated); rest of mesosoma with transverse suture completely separating pronotum + mesothorax from metapectal-propodeal disc; epicnemium partly visible; pronotum not separated from mesothorax; antenna geniculated; antennomeres 3–10 with ADOs (one per antennomere, except two ADOs in last antennomere); enlarged claw ( Figs 256B, D View FIGURE 256 ) with small subapical and medial teeth and one row of slender lamellae; protarsomere 5 ( Figs 256B, D View FIGURE 256 ) with rows of lamellae; tibial spurs 1/0/1. ♂: unknown.

Distribution. Afrotropical region.

Hosts. Unknown.

World species. Two species are known, both present in the Afrotropical region.
