ETYMOLOGY: The specific name is a patronym in honor of Dr. Charles Griswold of the California Academy of Science, collector of the holotype and other interesting Rebilus specimens.
DIAGNOSIS: Males and females have not been collected together but are tentatively matched here on the basis of geography and the oddness of their genitalia. Leg spination: femora: I p11 0; II, III p110, r010; IV p100; tibiae: I, II v1p1p2; III v1p22; IV v222, r0 11; metatarsi: III p001, v202; IV p00 1, v002, r100. Basal tibial apophysis elongated into projecting ledge, distal apophysis greatly widened just below tip (figs. 632, 652); tip of terminal apophysis directed prolaterally, away from tip of conductor (fig. 631).
FEMALE: Total length 20. Coloration as in male. Leg spination: femora: I, II, IV p11 0; III p110, r010; tibiae: II v1p1p2; III v1p22; IV v222, r011; metatarsi: III p0 01, v202; IV p001, v001p, r100. Epigynum deeply depressed, with wide septum (fig. 633); anterior epigynal ducts diffuse (fig. 634).
