Diagnosis. Forewing length is 16.5–17.5 mm in males and 21.5– 22 mm in females. The species can be externally recognized by its large size, broad crimson transverse lines and white hindwing. The genital differences of C. saalmuelleri from C. pauliani and C. detoulgoeti sp. n. are listed in the diagnoses of two latter species.

Distribution. Northern, Central and Eastern Madagascar ( Karisch 2013).
