( Figs 5 View FIGURES 2 – 13 , 43 View FIGURES 43 – 46. 43 , 149–152 View FIGURES 149 – 152 )
Female. Body length 1.9–2.7 mm; fore wing length 1.9–2.7 mm.
Head. Smooth and polished, with scattered setae; 1.2–1.4x wider than mesoscutum. Face about 1.62–1.75x broader than long, polished. Clypeus 2.5–3.2x broader than long. Malar space 0.35–0.47x eye height in frontal view. In lateral view, eyes 1.6–1.8x longer than temple. Maximum width of lateral ocellus 0.47–0.54x ocell-ocular distance. Antenna 1.09–1.26x longer than fore wing, 23–29 segmented; first flagellomere 2.8–3.4x longer than wide.
Mesosoma . About 1.7–1.9x longer than high. Mesonotum 1.2–1.4x longer than width of mesoscutum. Pronotum dorsally with narrow smooth area between anterior and posterior crenulated sulcus, about 0.7x longer than vertex; laterally smooth and polished, pronotal groove weakly indicated with some crenulation anteriorly, with few setae along posterior and ventral margin. Mesonotum smooth and polished; setae concentrated anteriorly, and on median lobe of mesoscutum, scutellum with scattered setae mainly along margin; notauli present on anterior 0.17–0.27 of the mesoscutum, crenulate; mid pit 0.5–0.6x the length of mesoscutum; scutellum 1.05–1.22x longer than wide, smooth and polished; scutellar sulcus 0.3–0.5x longer than wide, with one median carina; mesoscutellar trough smooth and bare but proximally striated. Metanotum without median carina, laterally weakly costate with scattered setae. Mesopleuron bare on central portion, setae concentrated on anterior corner and ventrally; sternaulus short and crenulated to very short and virtually smooth; anterior corner of mesopleuron smooth. Epicnemial carina present, ventrally incomplete. Metapleuron smooth and polished, with long and scattered setae. Propodeum mostly smooth and polished with some rugosity inside and outside areola; areola roughly pentagonal, with distinct cross-bridge and two pairs of transverse lateral carinae, median carina present anteriorly. Hind coxa 1.6–1.8x longer than wide, 0.8–1.0x as long as metasomal TI. Hind basitarsus about 0.39–0.41x as long as hind tibia. Hind tarsal claws without basal lobe.
Wings. Fore wing. Stigma 3.2–4.0x longer than broad; vein r arising from middle of stigma. Vein r 0.45–0.58x longer than vein 3RSa. Vein 2RS nearly straight, 0.8–1.1x longer than 3RSa. Vein 3 RSa 0.43–0.53 x 3 RSb and 1.5– 1.7x as long as vein r-m. Vein 1 Cub 1.9–2.1x vein 1CUa. Vein (RS+M)b short, not pigmented. Vein 1-1AC 0.19– 0.28x longer than vein 2-1 A. Hind wing. Vein M +CU about 1.8–2.1x longer than 1M. Vein cu-a 0.6–0.7x as long as 1M. Vein r-m 0.5–0.6x as long as 1M.
Metasoma. TI 0.95–1.24x as long as apical width; mostly rugose except on lateral areas smooth; short dorsal carinae well defined basally, apically absent, converging but not meeting; dorsope deep and large. Metasoma beyond petiole nearly membranose; TII about 1.3–1.6x longer than TIII. Ovipositor straight, 0.5–0.8x as long as hind tibia; ovipositor sheaths 0.7–1.1x longer than ovipositor.
Color. Head, propleuron, mesoscutum centrally, metanotum, tegula, scutellar sulcus, scutellum and propodeum yellow. Brown stain on head varying from present only on stemmaticum to most of head dorsally. Antenna and mesonotum dark brown. Scapus yellow to brown. Mandibles light yellow with brown tips. Palpi and legs whitish. Pronotum, and fore and mid tarsi yellowish. Some specimens with pronotum laterally brown on superior half.
Metapleuron yellow, sometimes partially whitish. Mesopleuron dorsally brown, yellow ventrally. Petiole yellowbrown, sometimes dorsally darker, metasoma beyond petiole pale, apically brown to dark brown; ovipositor sheaths brown. Legs yellow or pale yellow, at least fifth tarsomeres brown, all coxa and trochanter pale yellow or yellow; hind leg with tibia on apical 1/3 and tarsi brown. Wings hyaline, veins and stigma pale brown.

Biology. Unknown
Comments. A. soaresi sp. n. is similar to A. atlanticus sp. n. The main distinguishing character between these two species is the pronotum yellowish in A. soaresi sp. n., black in A. atlanticus sp. n. Additionally A. soaresi sp. n. have a smooth area between anterior and posterior crenulate sulcus of pronotum, which is absent in A. atlanticus sp. n., the dorsal carinae covers most of the TI in A. atlanticus sp. n. while in A. soaresi sp. n. it roughly reaches half-length of tergum.
Distribution. Brazil. Known only from type locality at Campos do Jordão municipality, around 1,500 meters above sea level.
Etymology. This species is named in honor to our dear friend Airton Santo Soares, who collected the type specimens. His work as a technician over the past three decades provides a major contribution of specimens to Brazilian Ichneumonoidea collections.
