( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 C, D)

Phareicranaus parallelus Roewer, 1925: 21 View in CoL ; Kury 2003: 97 (four females, one male syntypes “ Ecuador, Tal des Santiagos [Valle de Santiago], SMF-272\11”, examined).

Diagnosis. Color dark brown, with a white stripe on central part of groove I that divides in two and continues as two separate stripes until joining again on the posterior margin. Anterior margin with two central tubercles, two each side. Ocularium with tubercles concentrated on the posterior margin, with two long, divergent spines. Prosoma with white, V-shaped stripe after ocularium. Area I with four tubercles near groove II (one larger); II with 6–7 tubercles on each side; III with six anterior tubercles, 0–1 on each side of spines, 4 behind spines. Lateral margin with small tubercles scattered. Posterior margin with 20 tubercles surrounded by white, the lateral ones twice as large as the others. Cheliceral segment I with 11 tubercles; bulla with frontal tubercles. Pedipalpal trochanter with one large spine ventral, one large and two smaller dorsal; patella and tibia with dorsal tubercles; tibia ectal iiiIi, mesal IiIi; tarsus ectal iii, mesal iIiI. Free tergites with two tubercles each side, four central surrounded by white; II with two spines, two tubercles surrounded by white between them, two lateral, concolorous with tegument; III with two spines, two tubercles between them. Coxa IV with lateral dorsolateral tubercles, 1 large apical spine, ventral apophysis as long as wide near stigmata. Trochanter IV with large dorsal spine; 1 mesoapical smaller tubercle. Femur IV with one mesal and ectal rows of tubercles of different sizes; 1 mesal subapical curved tubercle and one ventroectal subapical curved tubercle larger than the others. Tibia IV with mesal tubercles on anterior half. Tarsal formula 7, 15, 9, 9.

Color. Dorsal scutum dark brown, legs II–IV darker than scutum, I lighter than scutum. Mesotergum with two parallel white stripes from sulcus I to posterior margin. Tubercles and spines of ocularium yellowish.

Male genitalia. Ventral plate slightly concave on distal border, lateral borders almost straight (except basal part narrowed). With 3 basal setae (longer than distal one) and 2–3 distal seatae, all setae conical. Stylus with apex inflated, with stylar apophysis ( Fig. 15 View FIGURE 15 C, D).

Note. The holotype was previously housed at the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali di Torino (See Kury 2003) and is now in the Naturmuseum Senckenberg.
