Holotype in NMSA (not seen).

Diagnosis. Arista plumose; dorsocentrals 2+3; fore tibia without a posterior seta; mid femur with 2 preapical setae; mid tibia with 2 posterior setae; lower katepisternal seta closer to the posterior one than to the anterior one; calypters brownish, haltere yellow; wing vein R4+5 with two setulae at base on ventral and dorsal surfaces.

Notes. According to Zielke (1971b), this species runs to L. notabilis (now L. quaterna ) in Emden’s (1951) key, but can be easily distinguished by the short setulae on the dorsal surface of vein R1.
