Bioramix (Leipopleura) yushuana sp. nov.

( Figs 23 View FIGURE 23 , 186–187 View FIGURES 170–189 , 316–317 View FIGURES 316–323 )

Description. Body black-brown, weakly shining, antennae, palpi and tarsi brown, elytral surface with weakly metallic sheen.

Male ( Figs 23 View FIGURE 23 , 186–187 View FIGURES 170–189 , 316 View FIGURES 316–323 ). Head. Anterior margin of epistome protruding forward, surface with dense and coarse punctures. Frons and genae weakly convex, surface with dense and coarse punctures. Dorsal surface of head flattened, with dense and coarse punctures. Eyes transverse, anterior margin shallowly emarginate. Antennae ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : A) almost reaching pronotal base, antennomeres II–VIII short cylindrical and thicker at apex, IX–X nearly spherical, XI sharped-oval. Length (width) ratio of antennomeres II–XI 24 (21): 44 (22): 25 (20): 27 (21): 33 (21): 30 (20): 31 (23): 26 (23): 26 (23): 32 (25).

Prothorax. Pronotum ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : B) transverse and convex, 1.5 times as wide as long and 2.0 times as wide as head. Lateral sides widest anterior to base, arcuately narrowing toward base and apex. Ratio of width at anterior margin to widest part and base 29: 46: 44. Anterior margin weakly emarginate, posterior one straight. Anterior and posterior angles obtuse. Anterior and posterior margins edged laterally, entire lateral margins edged. Dorsal surface with sparse and fine punctures on disc, denser and coarser at sides. Lateral sides weakly flattened. Prothoracic hypomera with longitudinal wrinkles and sparse yellow setae. Prosternum anterior to procoxae with yellow setae, prosternal process sharply sloping behind procoxae, apex not projecting beyond level of procoxae in lateral view.

Pterothorax. Elytra elongate-oval and convex, 1.2 times as long as wide and 1.1 times as wide as pronotum, base wider than pronotum and widest at middle. Surface with shallowly sparse, fine punctures and wrinkles, traces of longitudinal carinae. Lateral margins of elytra not reaching sutural angle, interrupted anterior to apex, visible anterior 1/ 3 in dorsal view.

Abdomen with dense yellow setae, ventrites 1–2 flattened at middle.

Legs. Profemora stout, with sparse punctures and yellow setae. Protibiae ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : D) gradually widened toward apex, underside concave at apex, outside margin nearly straight, inner side with dense yellow hairbrush from middle to apex. Protarsi ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : C) narrower than apex of protibiae. Meso- and metafemora longer than profemora. Mesotibiae ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : E) gradually widened toward apex, with rufous thick setae, inner side with dense yellow hairbrush from middle to apex. Mesotarsi ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : F) narrower than apex of mesotibiae. Metatibiae ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : G) curved, with rufous thick setae, inner side with dense yellow hairbrush from middle to apex. Length (width) ratio of pro-, meso- and metafemora 22 (8): 26 (8): 30 (8), that of corresponding tibiae 20 (8): 21 (6): 30 (6), and protarsomeres I–IV 28 (28): 43 (60): 36 (56): 23 (36), mesotarsi 32 (28): 35 (52): 35 (45): 23 (29): 58 (17), metatarsi ( Fig. 23 View FIGURE 23 : H) 90 (25): 49 (22): 39 (20): 65 (18).

Aedeagus ( Figs 23 View FIGURE 23 : I–J, 186–187) 2.7 mm long and 0.7 mm wide. Parameres 1.0 mm long and 0.5 mm wide, widest at base and narrowing toward apex, distal part slightly curved ventrally in lateral view.

Female ( Fig. 317 View FIGURES 316–323 ). Antennae not reaching pronotal base, abdominal ventrites 1–2 neither depressed nor flattened at middle, pro- and mesotarsi not widened, other characters similar to male.

Measurements. Body length: ♂ 9.8 mm, ♀ 9.2 mm and width: ♂ 5.1 mm, ♀ 4.8 mm.

Type material. Holotype: ♂ ( MHBU), CHINA : Qinghai: Yushu County, 3600 m, 13.VI.1996, Guo-Dong Ren leg. Paratypes: 1♀ ( MHBU), same data as holotype ; 1♂ ( MHBU), Wenchenggongzhu [Princess Wencheng] Temple, Yushu Zhou [equivalent to City], 32°53.214′ N, 97°03.400′ E, 3806 m, 25.VII.2019, Guo-Dong Ren, Xing- Long Bai, Ya-Lin Li, Ming-Min Ma & He Shi leg. Distribution. China: Qinghai.

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to Bioramix (Leipopleura) reinigi ( Kaszab, 1940) , but can be distinguished from the latter by the following characters (based on male): (1) anterior margin of epistome protruding forward (straight in B. reinigi ); (2) outside margin of protibiae nearly straight, protarsi and mesotarsi more strongly widened (more sinuate, more weakly in B. reinigi ); (3) distal part of parameres slightly curved ventrally in lateral view (more strongly curved dorsally in B. reinigi ).

Etymology. This species name is derived from the type locality—Yushu.
