Habitat. Attached by a mass of fine byssus threads in sand and sand rubble mixtures. Usually only the straight posterior edge is visible at the surface.

Distribution. Widely distributed throughout the lagoon wherever suitable substrates are present, generally sublittoral.

Range. Indo-Pacific [R/M/S].
