3. Cothornobata shuimanensis View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs. 4 View FIGURE 4 , 5 View FIGURE 5 )

Diagnosis. Mostly blackish; median occipital sclerite with a small dark yellow spot at middle. Wing discal band relatively large, basal to middle of penultimate section of M1, distal to dm-cu. Arm of genital fork bowed at base and subparallel on distal 2/3, basal tubercle broadly convex.

Description. Male. Body length 12.0–10.0 mm, wing length 9.0–8.0 mm.

Head mostly subshiny blackish with very thin gray pollinosity. Frontal vitta dark yellow, densely microsetulose, about 1/2 width of frons; lower orbital plate dull pollinose; ocellar triangle black; median occipital sclerite with small dark yellow spot at middle; lunule reddish orange; face pale yellow, densely microsetulose; gena yellow, lightly pollinose; clypeus brown, but dark yellow laterally, shiny. Setae and setulae on head black; postgena with 1 strong seta at lower margin. Antenna brownish-yellow; first flagellomere 1.5X longer than wide; pedicel with 1 ventral apical seta nearly length of first flagellomere; arista nearly 3.4X length of first flagellomere, brown with yellow base, long pubescent with distal half bare. Proboscis dark yellow with brown apex, setulae brown. Palpus yellow, setulae black.

Thorax blackish, with pale gray pollinosity. Scutellum slightly convex, angled dorsally. Setae on thorax black, setulae blackish; katepisternum with 3 to 4 strong setae.

Legs mostly dark yellow, except hind coxa brown, apical 2/5 of fore femur, apical 3/10 of mid femur and apical 1/5 of hind femur black; tibiae brownish-yellow to brown, darker at base and apex; tarsi blackish-brown, except mid basitarsus dark yellow with blackish tip.

Wing light brown, distal band dark brown, reached to middle of distal section of M1 but strongly paled anterior to M1 and with minor pale strip between R2+3 and R4+5; discal band much light than distal band, covered M1 but posterior to R4+5, basal to middle of penultimate section of M1, distal to dm-cu. Bm-cu in line with CuA2, A1+CuA2 twice as long as CuA2; distance between apex of R2+3 and R4+5 0.3X as long as M1 beyond dm-cu ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C). Halter pale yellow with brown base.

Abdomen mostly blackish and lightly pollinose, tergites 2–4 pale yellow with dense pale gray pollinosity apically. Pleuron dark gray. Epandrium brownish-yellow. Genital fork brownish-yellow to brown; arm long, bowed at base and subparallel on distal 2/3; basal tubercle broadly convex, medial tubercle very weak, inconspicuous ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 D). Distiphallus slightly shorter than phallapodeme, terminating in curved filaments, not inflated apically. Pregonite expanded. Postgonite narrow and apically out-turned, slightly angled laterally (viewed ventrally) ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 GH).

Female. Body length 12.5–11.0 mm, wing length 10.0–9.0 mm. Tergites 1–3 dull, pruinose blackish-brown, with dense pale gray pollinosity apically, tergite 5, tergite 6 and oviscape shiny. Oviscape 1.2X length of tergite 6, black, with short blackish-brown setulae.

Distribution. Oriental: China (Hainan).

Remarks. Cothornobata shuimanensis is similar to C. breviseta sp. nov. and C. fusca sp. nov., but differs as follows: body mostly blackish; median occipital sclerite with a small dark yellow spot at middle; wing discal band relatively large, basal to middle of penultimate section of M1, distal to dm-cu.
