? Calophya sp.

Psyllid gall, Karsch, 1880: 305, ®gure 16. Brazil: Porto Alegre, nipple galls on the leaves of a

plant tentatively referred to a Sapotaceae close to Argania sideroxylon R. S. (depository?);

RuÈ bsaamen, 1899: 276; Houard, 1933: 208, gall nr. 589

Karsch (1880) suggested that the galls may have been produced by Hymenoptera : Tenthredinidae . RuÈbsaamen (1899) who examined the same material found psylloid larvae associated with the galls. Houard (1933) without giving further information referred the plant to Schinus dependens . Judging from Karsch’s drawing the gall could come from a Calophya sp.
