Type species. Cobanocythere subterranea Hartmann, 1959 .

Diagnosis. Carapace surface smooth or ornamented. Marginal infold broad in anterior region but very narrow in posterior. Hingement of lophodont or hemimerodont type. Three adductor muscle scars in oblique row. Exopodite of mandibula absent or strongly reduced to short process. Short copulatory duct of male copulatory organ.
