Description. Adult (Figs 18, 72, 73). Wingspan 7.0̄11.0 mm. Head yellowish white to light yellow. Labial palpus light yellow, shorter and stout in male; segment II as long as III, male hair pencil absent; segment III fuscous in female. Antenna with scape light yellow; flagellum light yellow on dorsal surface and fuscous on ventral surface in male, entirely fuscous in female; male with cilia as long as width. Thorax and tegula light yellow. Forewing ground color light yellow to brown, basal 1/3 black on costa, sometimes with a black spot at base near costa; markings creamy white to yellow: antemedian fascia straight, moderately broad, extending posteriorly along dorsum to base, forming a brown semicircular mark; distal patch between 1/2 and 2/3, reprented by an irregular diffusion, or two or three distal streaks formed by yellow scales. Hindwing dark grey. Legs whitish yellow; fore femur with dorsal half black on outer surface, fore tibia black on outer surface, inner surface with a black longitudinal stripe, apically black, fore tarsus black on outer surface, inner surface with first tarsomere black at middle, remaining tarsomeres ringed with black apically; mid tibia black apically, mid tarsus with first tarsomere black at middle, remaining tarsomeres ringed with black apically; hind femur black at base, hind tibia black near tibial spurs, after middle, and at apex, hind tarsus as in mid tarsus.

Pregenital abdomen (Figs 37, 56). In male, coremata 1/3 length of abdomen; sternum VIII small, tapering toward pointed posterior end, sub-triangular. In female, sternum VII deeply concave on posterior margin in Vshape; tergum VII concave on posterior margin, with a medial bump, forming a W-shape.

Male genitalia (Fig. 95). Uncus sub-rectangular, setose distally, apex slightly convex at middle. Gnathos hook upcurved, pointed at apex. Tegumen 2.5 times longer than uncus. Valva narrow, about 1/3 width of uncus, curved inward, distal half with long setae, sharply pointed at apex. Anellus lobes oval, about 1/2 length and twice width of vlava; apical bristle hooked, 1/2 length of anellus lobe. Vinculum slender, with a pair of conical-shaped processes 1/2 length of anellus lobes. Saccus very slender, 2/3 length of anellus lobe. Aedeagus with basal 1/4 dilated, distal 3/4 slender and sinuous; interior sclerite arising from basal 1/4, reaching apex.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 114 View FIGURES 114 ). Papillae anales simple. Apophyses anteriores about 1/3 length of apophyses posteriores. Tergum VIII narrowed posteriorly, sternum VIII with a band of sclerotization on anterior margin. Ostium bursae large, U-shaped. Antrum broad, sclerotized dorsally. Ductus bursae narrow, as long as corpus bursae; colliculum at middle, shortly sclerotized; ductus seminalis arising from below colliculum. Corpus bursae elliptical; signum situated at middle, basal plate rhombiform, with a hook-shaped process arising anteriorly.

Diagnosis. This new species can be distinguished by the absence of the hair pencil on the male labial palpus, which is unusual in this genus. It is externally very similar to P. sigmoides sp. nov., but in P. sigmoides sp. nov. the scape is usually suffused with brown scales on the posterior margin, the basal black spot on the forewing is more or less distinct, and the hind tibia is often suffused with fuscous on the inner surface, which are all not obvious in P. atricha sp. nov. The male genitalia are characterized by having a slender valva and the conical-shaped processes on the vinculum; the female genitalia are characterized by the large and U-shaped ostium bursae, and the relatively short ductus bursae as compared to P. macrodelta and P. sigmoides sp. nov.

Distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan).

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Greek, a (without) and tricho (hair), referring to the absence of the hair pencil on the segment II of the labial palpus in male.

Variations. In some specimens, the forewing markings can be indistinct or absent.
