Lepidostoma lidderwatense sp. nov.

( Figs. 13–18 View FIGURES 13 – 18 )

Male: Scapes each 4.85 mm long, covered with long, dense setae, having 2 dorsal processes in basal fifth: basal process slender, cylindrical, and apically curved; more distal process thumb-like ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ). Maxillary palpi each 1.94 mm; 2-segmented, first segment longer, about as long as labial palpi, second segment one-third as long as first segment and straight ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ). Average length of each forewing 9.7 mm (n = 2). Wings covered with fine scales, anal groove with 4 postcubital cells, central cell 2.5 times as long as distal cells ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ).

Genitalia ( Figs. 13–16 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ): Segment IX apicodorsally broadly rounded, somewhat dome-shaped. Segment X divided on midline forming pair of processes, each having basal half broad with lateral margin triangular and distal half narrower, projecting as ventromesal lobe extended posteroventrad ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ). Inferior appendages each with basal segment subrectangular in lateral and ventral views, apical segment slender, short, finger-like, curved mesad ( Figs. 13, 14 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ). Phallic apparatus dilated near base, hump-like dorsally, apical two-thirds long and cylindrical; parameres aligned with phallic apparatus, tapering to acute apices.

Etymology. This species is named after the type locality.

Material examined. Holotype ♂ in EtOH; INDIA: Jammu & Kashmir, Aru, Lidderwat River, elev. 2700 m, 17-ix-2015, collector Sajad H. Parey (ZSI). Paratypes: Same data as holotype, 2 ♂ (RTCPPPM, SKUAST-K).

Diagnosis. This species closely resembles Lepidostoma nagana Mosely 1939 but differs in that segment IX has its dorsum extended posterad and is rounded in lateral view, segment X has dorsolateral processes that are apically triangular in dorsal view, and the dorsolateral processes are broader in lateral view ( Figs. 13–15 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ).
