Female

Body small, slender. Head protruding above pronotum. Vertex narrow, distinctly narrower than eye, anterior margin of vertex nearly straight, not exserted before eyes, lateral margin turned backward, midkeel conspicuous. In frontal view, vertex forming ā€œUā€-shaped concavity, lateral margin not exserted before upper margin of eyes. In profile, vertex not protruding before anterior margin of eyes. Frontal ridge arched, protruding between antennae. Width of frontal ridge between antennae equal to width of first segment of antennae. Antennae filiform, inserted below the lower margin of eyes, 15-segmented, length of a segment in middle about 7ā€“8 times longer than its width. Eyes globose, exserted. Lateral ocelli placed in the lower one-third of anterior margin of eyes. Pronotum long, slender, disc of pronotum with small particles. Anterior margin straight, midkeel completely conspicuous. In profile, upper margin of pronotum slightly protruding before shoulders, straight after shoulders. Lateral keels of prozona parallel. Humeral angle obtuse, rounded, slightly constricted after shoulders. With a pair of long, oblique, longitudinal keels between shoulders. Hind process long cone shape, surpassing top of hind tibia. Lateral lobes of pronotum slightly turned outwards, posterior margin with two concavities, top of hind angle slightly truncate. Tegmina long oval, top round, veins conspicuous, width of tegmina 1.5 times width of mid femur, hind wing developed, reaching top of hind process. Fore and mid femora slender, upper and lower margins straight. Mid femur not constricted toward end. Hind femur stout, antegenicular denticles angulated, genicular denticles acute. Outer side of hind tibia with four spines, inner side with four spines. Length of first segment of posterior tarsi nearly equal to the third segment, three pulvilli of the first segment of posterior tarsi nearly equal in length, apex sharp. Ovipositor narrow and long, the length five times the width of upper valve, upper and lower valvulae with big teeth. Supra-anal plate slender, triangular, with transverse ridge in middle, deeply furrowed in middle of base. Cercus slender, cone-shaped. Length of subgenital plate longer than width, hind margin with a triangular convexity in the middle.

Colouration. Disc of body black-brown, antennae black, internodes white. Disc of prontum black-brown, midkeel with black and white stripes, lateral lobes grey-white. Tegmina black-brown, reticulate veins with light colour. Hind wing black. Fore and mid femora and tibia with two black rings, top of first and second tarsi black. Hind femur brown, outer side with two black and two white rings, upper knee lobe black. Hind tibia black with two white bands in middle, top of second and third tarsi black. Ventral thorax and abdomen brown. Middle of subgenital plate with black longitudinal grain.

Male

Body slender and smaller compared to the female. Subgenital plate short, coneshaped, apex straighter. Other parts same as female.

Colouration. Same as for female.

Type material

Holotype female, China: Ruili (Mengxiu), Yunnan, 8 August 2005, coll. Niu Yao. Paratype: one male, same data as for holotype.

Measurements (in mm)

Body length: male 7, female 11; pronotum length: male 13.5, female 15; hind femur length: male 5, female 6; antenna length: female 5.3.

Etymology

The name originated from the Greek words klin, meaning oblique, and nema, meaning line.

Diagnosis

This new species is similar to Xistra longzhouensis Zheng and Jiang , but differs in the width of the frontal ridge between the antennae being equal to the width of the first segment of the antennae. With a pair of long, oblique, longitudinal keels. Lateral margin without a pair of projections after shoulders. Hind process surpassing top of hind tibia. Hind tibia black.
