Angielczyk (2007): (1) lateral anterior palatal ridges present; (2) mid-ventral plate of vomers relatively wide in ventral view; (3) squamosal with a distinct dorsolateral notch in posterior view; (4) mandibular fenestra occluded by a lamina of the dentary.

Fröbisch (2007), Fröbisch & Reisz (2008): (1) postorbitals slope slightly ventrolaterally for most of their width and partially overlap the parietals, which form a slight crest along the midline of the skull; (2) mid-ventral plate of vomers relatively wide in ventral view; (3) dorsal process of stapes present; (4) mandibular fenestra present but significantly reduced.
