Alborz ( Linnavuori 2007), Ardabil ( Linnavuori 2007; Havaskary et al. 2012; Hosseini 2013 b), Fars (Linnavuori 2009), Golestan (Ghahari 2013), Guilan ( Linnavuori 2007; Hosseini 2012 b), Hormozgan ( Linnavuori 2004 b), Ilam (Linnavuori 2009; Samin et al. 2011 under the junior homonym M. nubilus  (Herrich- Schaeffer, 1835 )), Kermanshah (Linnavuori 2009), Khorasan ( Linnavuori & Modarres Awal 1999), Khuzestan, Kordestan, Kuhgiloyeh & Boyerahmad, Lorestan (Linnavuori 2009), Mazandaran (Heiss & Linnavuori 2002; Linnavuori 2007), Tehran ( Linnavuori 2007), West Azarbaiajn (Linnavuori 2009; Sakenin et al. 2010 under the junior homonym M. nubilus (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835 ))  , Zanjan ( Linnavuori 2007), Iran (no locality cited) ( Kerzhner & Josifov 1999).

General distribution and hosts. Palaeotropical species; living on Stachys  sp. ( Linnavuori & Modarres Awal 1999; Linnavuori 2009).

Comments. An undescribed species (as Macrolophus  spec. nov.) was mentioned from Khorasan by Wagner (1957).
