Distribution in Iran. Alborz ( Yarmand et al. 2004; Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000), Ardabil ( Modarres Awal 1987; Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000; Linnavuori 2007), East Azarbaijan ( Modarres Awal 1997 c), Fars (Linnavuori 2009), Guilan (Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000; Linnavuori 2007), Isfahan (Linnavuori 2009), Khorasan ( Modarres Awal 1997 b; Linnavuori & Modarres Awal 1999; Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000; Havaskary et al. 2010), Kordestan ( Ebrahimi et al. 2012), Markazi (Linnavuori 2009; Arkani et al. 2011), Tehran (Linnavuori & Hosseini 2000; Linnavuori 2007), West Azarbaijan (Linnavuori 2009; Gharaat et al. 2009), Zanjan ( Linnavuori 2007), Iran (no locality cited) ( Kerzhner & Josifov 1999).

General distribution and hosts. Holopalaearctic species; listed on numerous hosts including, Galium  spp. ( Linnavuori 2007, 2009), Medicago sativa  , Solanum tuberosum  and Triflium sp. ( Ebrahimi et al. 2012).

Polymerus brevirostris (Knight, 1925) 

P. brevirostris (Knight, 1925)  was listed on sugar-beet from Zanjan by Askari et al. (2009) and on rape from East Azarbaijan by Khaghaninia et al. (2010 a). However the presence in Iran of this species described from U.S. A (Minnesota), unknown from Palaearctic Region, is doubtful.
