DISTRIBUTION: Sierra Madre, in S Durango, W Zacatecas, and N Jalisco ( Mexico).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Neotamias . Formerly included durangae and solivagus, which were considered incertae sedis by Callahan (1980); see durangae .
