Type species. Shaddai typicus Distant, 1918 View in CoL
The leafhopper genus Shaddai View in CoL was established by Distant in 1918 from India with Shaddai typicus Distant, 1918 View in CoL as its type species. Later, Dworakowska (1977) transferred Sinalebra hummeli Distant, 1936 View in CoL , recorded from China, to Shaddai View in CoL ; Ma (1981) reported Shaddai shaanxiensis Ma, 1981 View in CoL and Shaddai xianensis Ma, 1981 View in CoL from China. So far, there are 4 species of Shaddai View in CoL , all of which have been recorded from China.
Distribution. Palearctic and Oriental Regions.
Note. This genus can be distinguished from Alebra Fieber, 1872 by the hind wing submarginal vein not confluent with vein RP and 1st apical cell partially open.
