Type:— PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Arau, 23 October 1959, Brass 32246 (holotype US 00103934 image!, isotype K!).

Distribution:— Papua New Guinea.

Note: —Only known from one collection with male flowers, from East New Guinea, E. Highlands Distr. Forman considered this species as doubtful and affine with S. montana , although he noticed differences in the leaves of both species.
