Description. Male. Body small. Head. Fastigium verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded, with a thin furrow on dorsal surface ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Eyes ovoid, protruding outwards. Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones, apices faintly inflated. Pronotum. Anterior margin widely arched, posterior margin obtusely rounded, protruding backwards ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ); lateral lobes longer than high, narrowing to backwards, without humeral sinus ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ). Wings. Termina beyond the posterior of pronotum, reaching the middle area of the second abdominal tergite, apices obtusely rounded. Hind wings absent. Legs. Procoxae swollen with 1 spine. All femora unarmed on ventral surface, apices of genicular lobes of postfemora obtusely rounded. Protibiae with 4 pairs of spines and 1 pair of apical spurs on ventral surface. Protibial tympana opened on both sides, long oval, internal tympanum larger than external one. Mesotibiae with 3–4 internal spines, 4 external spines and 1 pair of apical spurs on ventral surface. Posttibiae with 20 – 23 internal spines and 22 – 24 external spines on dorsal surface, ventral surface with 3 pairs of spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs. Abdomen. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with angularly concave in the middle ( Fig. 3D View FIGURE 3 ). Basal three-quarters of cerci with internal margin expanding, the interno-dorsal margin gradually widening towards the middle, the interno-ventral margin narrower expanding to a triangular lobe in the middle ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 ); apical area of cerci incurved with 2 branches, the dorsal branch slightly shorter than the ventral one, apices obtuse ( Fig. 3G, H View FIGURE 3 ). Subgenital plate long, basal area broad and narrowing from basal to apical area; basal margin faintly arched with an angular membranous area in the middle; lateral margins subparallel; apical area trapezoidal protruding, posterior margin slightly concave in middle ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 ). Styli subcylindrical, apices obtuse, inserted at the ventral of subapical subgenital plate on both sides ( Fig. 3H, I View FIGURE 3 ).

Female. Appearance is similar to male. Lateral margins of eighth abdominal tergite protruding backwards, apices rounded with a small spine on ventral surface ( Fig. 4G View FIGURE 4 ); posterior margin of ninth abdominal tergite slightly concave; tenth abdominal tergite narrow with concave in the middle. Epiproct nearly triangular with a thin furrow on dorsal surface. Cerci conical, slightly straight, apices subacute. Ovipositor with stout basal area, moderately upcurved, dorsal and ventral margins smooth, apices of dorsal valvulae acute, apices of ventral valvulae hooked ( Fig. 4F View FIGURE 4 ). Subgenital plate transverse, ventral surface with curved longitudinal ridge, basal margin concave in middle, lateral margins constricted before middle area, posterior margin rounded with faintly concave in middle ( Fig. 4H View FIGURE 4 ).

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes brown. Internal margins of antennal sockets dark brown, scapes and pedicelli of antennae blackish brown, flagellums with brownish rings. Dorsal surface of head with 4 longitudinal dark brown stripes: the internal longitudinal stripes extending to the apex of fastigium verticis with between stripes brown, the external stripes reaching the internal margins of antennal sockets ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Disc of pronotum brown with a longitudinal black brown stripe on the outside, which apical area extending to the middle area of metazona ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Apical areas of tegmina dark brown. Apices of genicular lobes blackish brown. Dorsal surfaces of abdominal tergites brown, lateral margins dark brown.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Qingping, Shuangjiang , Yunnan , August 14, 2022, coll. by Xiangyi Lu and Xiaoyu Peng. Paratypes: 5 males and 3 females, the same data as holotype.

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 7.2–9.1, ♀ 7.6–8.9; pronotum: ♂3.3–3.8, ♀ 3.5–3.6; tegmen: ♂ 2.2–2.6, ♀ 1.7–2.2; postfemur: ♂ 7.9–8.3, ♀ 8.4–9.0; ovipositor: 5.5–6.0.

Distribution. Yunnan (Shuangjiang).

Discussion. The new species differs from Phlugiolopsis furcicaudis Zheng, Shi & Chang, 2023 by the shape of male cerci.

Etymology. The species is named after the dorsal branch of male cerci is shorter than the ventral branch.
